Google Summer of Code, Internship in Redmond or nothing (Updated)

A few days back, I received an email from Microsoft. They asked me to answer some questions about me, my skills and my career. A week has happened since I received that email. They told me to send a reply next day.

I don’t know how much time does it take to evaluate a candidate. Last year, I took the long process so I made six interviews to get a final interview in Paris and the process was a bit slow (there were many candidates I suppose).

Anyways, in the template email I received, I was told the following:

You will receive a response from us by mid February as to whether or not we will continue to pursue you as a candidate. Thank you for your time!!!

So I just don’t know if they will send me an answer this week or next year. I have just received the response and they will contact me in January. :)

So I going to apply for a Google Summer of Code by the moment. There are a few projects I would like to work in such as: Minix3 or haskell.org.

If I am not given a position in GSoC, I’ll spend most of summer time learning and studying anyways…
